Show the Details.
Serious buyers reviewing an online listing have one advantage — they can study every photograph before placing a bid. A comprehensive set of images gives them what they need and gives your listing a competitive edge.
IDT Photo photographs the complete vehicle: exterior angles, front and rear, profiles, wheels and tires, interior, dashboard and gauges, engine compartment, badges and trim, condition details, and undercarriage where safe access is available. The goal is accurate, attractive, and complete documentation.
David Mercer has photographed more than 100 vehicles for assignments destined for Bring a Trailer and dozens more for Cars & Bids through third-party photography assignments.
Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids are independent platforms. IDT Photo is not an official affiliate or partner of either.

A Car With
a Story
Ex–Paul Newman 1988 Volvo 740 Turbo
Some vehicles are more than transportation. They come with a story.
David Mercer photographed this 1988 Volvo 740 Turbo, formerly owned by actor and racing enthusiast Paul Newman, as part of a photography assignment for its Bring a Trailer auction presentation.
The vehicle and its story attracted national automotive-media attention, with photographs from the Bring a Trailer listing subsequently appearing in Car and Driver's coverage of the auction.
For IDT Photo, this assignment represents what great automotive photography should accomplish: document the vehicle accurately, capture the details that matter, and help tell the story behind the automobile.
IDT Photo documents the vehicle. The sale price reflects the vehicle itself, its history, and market conditions.

More Than a
Listing Photo.
Tell the complete story of the vehicle.
A complete vehicle study documents exterior, interior, dashboard, steering wheel and gauges, engine compartment, wheels, badging, and the details that make a specific automobile distinctive. This level of coverage can support an auction listing, document a restoration, or become a keepsake for the owner.

One Last Portrait.
Selling a collector vehicle can be surprisingly emotional.
For some owners, the automobile represents years of ownership, a restoration project, road trips, shows, shared memories, or simply the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Before the vehicle goes to its next owner, IDT Photo can create a final portrait designed to remain with you long after the car is gone.

Light Painting.
Turn your vehicle into art.
Automotive light painting is created using multiple carefully controlled exposures. Different portions of the vehicle are illuminated individually, then those exposures are blended together in post-production. The result is dramatically different from a conventional photograph — it reveals lines, surfaces, reflections, and the character of the automobile in a way that standard photography cannot.
Particularly suited to collector cars, classics, custom builds, performance vehicles, and vehicles with personal significance. Aurora, Naperville, and the western Chicago suburbs.

Inquire About a Collector PortraitHow the Image Is Created
Automotive light painting isn't a single photograph. It's the result of dozens of individual exposures, each illuminating a different surface, reflection, or detail of the vehicle. Those exposures are then carefully composited into a single finished image.

The Image You Keep.
Some vehicles represent years of saving, searching, restoring, and maintaining. A commissioned automotive portrait gives that investment a visual form that can hang in a garage, office, or home — long after circumstances change.
IDT Photo creates collector portraits for classics, muscle cars, exotic vehicles, custom builds, performance cars, motorcycles, and vehicles with personal significance. Finished work can be delivered as wall artwork, framed prints, or garage and office pieces.
